Square-Enix has revealed its intentions to acquire Tecmo and will outline their plans for a takeover later today in Japan, according to a new report this evening by Kotaku.
If successful, Square-Enix would gain a number of Tecmo’s key franchises like Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive, as well as the upcoming new Tecmo Bowl series. [...]

After a successful resurrection of the Ninja Gaiden series on the Xbox (which then led to multiple revisions), Tomonobu Itagaki brings the series full force onto the next generation hardware. While not revolutionary or a massive leap forward, Gaiden II is gooey, bloody fun when it’s not annihilating the player.
