After a year of announcements, delays, closed betas and other tom foolery, could the launch of PlayStation Home be right around the corner? Maybe, if a recent post by Variety’s Ben Fritz is any indication. Coming from a demo of the service with SCEA director Jack Buser, quite a few hints were dropped:
Sony hasn’t announced a launch date for Home, which is in public beta. Buser would only say it will be this fall. But then as we were checking out the new space in “Home” devoted to Sony’s game “Uncharted” we noticed that the code to get in one of the locked doors is “1024.” And Buser added that the number comes from the front of the apartment buildings where Home users have their “personal space.” “But who knows what it means?” he added (I’m paraphrasing).
It’s only a couple of weeks away, and also follows the October 21 release of LittleBigPlanet, so it’s a definite possibility that Sony could be doing all this on the same week. Stay tuned for more.
