Sony Computer Entertainment’s Life With PlayStation service is officially being released today, as confirmed by a company statement released a few hours ago.
With the new feature, news, information, and weather content is now available for all PlayStation 3 users to check out when they turn on their consoles. More specifically, here are some of the items being introduced with the service: cloud imagery (provided by University of Wisconsin-Madison Space Science and Engineering Center), along with weather information (provided by The Weather Channel), news headlines (provided by Google News), and live camera images (partially provided by The Earth Television Network) of nearly 60 cities around the globe.
To get the service, just click the Folding@home icon in your XrossMediaBar and it will automatically update. In doing that the Folding@home service will also add better support for simulation of protein folds and add a ranking system, letting you know where you stand with your contribution levels.
