In this crazy video game world we live in, there are rumors and then there are rumors. If a recent one posted on the VGChartz forum is any indication, Microsoft is getting preparing to launch the new Xbox Experience in a big way, and it’s not too far away either. To see the details, see below.
According to the post, on September 25 at 7pm EST, Microsoft will start a five hour countdown to “relaunch” the Xbox 360 with the new dashboard update. Alongside that, G4TV will, allegedly, cover the event live and it will also be available to stream on your console if you’re a Live subscriber.
Furthermore, the post also states that the system will sport a new music store as well as the abililty to access and subscribe to Sirius Satellite Radio with the latter coming with a free trial. In addition, a dozen new demos will launch, along with four new bits of DLC: a preview of the Grand Theft Auto IV expansion, a new Mass Effect expansion, Portal, and a new map pack for Halo 3.
But wait, there’s more! Microsoft will also reveal a dozen new games that “haven’t been seen before”. As for what titles, the following code names were given: Apricot, Burden, Conker, Dramatis, Error, Fender, Gargoyle, Hiroshima, Ignorance, Jeremiah, Kyoto, London.
Finally, the post says that six more Xbox Originals will be added to the Marketplace and that they will all be free.
As was stated before, I can’t stress enough that this is a rumor right now because all of this stuff is just crazy if it winds up being true in any capacity. So for now, take all of this with a grain of salt and wait for a couple of weeks to see if it pans out.
