Someone at Microsoft is feeling charitable. A select batch of downloadable content has received a discount on the Marketplace from this very moment until the end of October. At that time, they’ll apparently have to pay invisible DLC gnomes overtime to reset the prices with a digital pricing gun and will jack the price back up.

The significant packs include the Mass Effect expansion Bring Down the Sky (down 100 MS Points), Oblivion’s Shivering Isles (down 800 points), and three Guitar Hero III packs (each dropping 140 points). Forza 2 and Beautiful Katamari also drop some of their content.

Now, how about some Live Arcade drops too?
