Jimi Hendrix will make his proper Guitar Hero debut this fall in Guitar Hero: World Tour, according to a recent report on Rolling Stone’s website. Citing difficultly in locating the original master recordings as the reason for not doing it sooner, The Hendrix Estate has confirmed that they have delivered a number of songs, including “Purple Haze”, “Foxy Lady”, and “Little Wing” over to Neversoft, developers of the game.
“Guitar Hero really was on the ball and and they were biting at the bit to get this out this year, so, we just accommodated them,” Janie Hendrix, overseer of The Hendrix Estate told Rolling Stone. “Jimi was a kid at heart — he definitely would have played these games.”
As I mentioned above, savy Guitar Hero vets will take note that this isn’t the first time Hendrix songs will have shown up in the series. The original Guitar Hero featured “Spanish Castle Magic” as a cover, performed by WaveGroup.
