Over at Microsoft’s Gamerscore Blog, the company “quietly” revealed a few more features that will be arriving via the upcoming Fall update alongside the addition of Avatars and Netflix services.
First, and arguably most notable, among those unveilings is the new ability to copy your Xbox 360 games to your hard drive and play them directly off of the system. That, in turn, will result in quicker load times as well. You’ll still need the game’s disc to use this feature for verification that you own it, though.
In addition, gamers will also be able to access Xbox Live Marketplace content from the web and download it to your console whereever it is. Meaning that you can now purchase TV episodes and movies, maps, DLC, and a host of other content from work or another computer, and have it waiting for you when you come home.
Finally, for the PC and display junkies out there, Microsoft has heard your cries and has finally added 1680×1050 and 1440×900 support for both VGA and HDMI displays. To some out there, this stuff is just as big as the other annoucements, so this is definitely some good stuff.
