Capcom’s franchise blue bomber’s next adventure won’t just be exclusive to Nintendo’s WiiWare service, as IGN confirmed tonight that Mega Man 9 will be headed to the PlayStation Store and Xbox Live Marketplace as well. In addition, they also debuted a new trailer that features a bit more gameplay, a bit of the story (more on that below), and a better listen of the snazzy music from the previous trailer.
Regarding the story, the game will pick up after the events of Mega Man 8. Dr. Light, Mega Man’s creator and mentor, is stunned to realize some of his creations are creating riots around the world. Upon seeing that, everyone’s favorite villain Dr. Wily goes on TV to further implicate Light, forcing Mega Man to clear up his mentor’s name along with the riots.
The game will sport 50 new enemies and bosses, and have online leaderboard ranking systems when it arrives later this year.
