Chrono Trigger, the 1995 Super Nintendo RPG that many consider to be one of the greatest games of all-time in its genre, is officially headed for the Nintendo DS in a remastered port.
Confirming the project after rumors started to swell from Famitsu scans yesterday, Square-Enix released a full announcement for the game this morning and noted that the DS version would be getting a few extra features as well. While the game will remain largely unchanged, it will have some wrinkles with touch-screen functionality and use of both DS screens. A new dungeon and Wireless play are also being added.
Chrono Trigger is expected to arrive sometime during the holiday season. There are more details on the game from the official press release below.
