Disney Channel stars Aly & AJ will be getting their own video game accessories line this fall, as they have partnered with Performance Design Products to launch a line of upcoming products aimed at female gamers.
The first of those products, coming in September, will be a line of guitar controllers for the Wii and PS2 versions of the Guitar Hero series.
“We wanted to do something that really speaks to the girls who are fans of these games,” said Aly, the older of the two sisters. “We love the idea of being able to bring them into our music by playing one of our guitars.”
The two star in their own shows, and have the achieved success with their past movies and soundtracks, which made the move a no-brainer to John Moore, VP of Marketing of PDP.
“Aly & AJ were an obvious choice for us. They are multi-talented artists who write their own music and are proficient musicians playing guitar, piano and percussion. They are also gamers themselves, and have been instrumental in the design process.”
Does this mean Aly & AJ will be coming to a Guitar Hero song list near you anytime soon? Probably not, but the way the games have been branching out with more music to customize the user experience it’s not unthinkable, either. For now, at least, gamers have more options when in auditions for their virtual bands.
