Coming almost two weeks after Jeff Bell’s resignation, Microsoft announced his replacement today naming Michael Delman as the new Corporate VP of Marketing for its Interactive Entertainment Division.
“Michael’s global experience and work in Europe is a strategic asset as the Interactive Entertainment Business gears up for the next wave of growth and audience expansion,” IEB senior VP Don Mattrick said. “We welcome him to the team and look forward to utilizing his expertise to take our brand to new heights.”
Joining the fold with two decades of marketing experience to his credit, Delman came to Microsoft in 1990 from Oglivy & Mather where he served as vice president to head up the company’s corporate communications. He’s also managed accounts for Toshiba, NW Ayer, and First Interstate Bank.
In his new role, he’ll report to senior VP Don Mattrick and head up marketing strategies for both the Xbox 360 and Games for Windows initiatives.
“I couldn’t imagine a more exciting time to be joining the IEB team — we’re on the cusp of revolutionizing the gaming industry, and changing how people interact with their television and connect with others,” Delman said. “I look forward to applying my experience in global marketing to extend the reach of our products and propel the business into the next phase of growth.”
