EA Sports titles on the Wii will be getting peripherals in the near future, according to Electronic Arts’ David McCarthy.
Talking to Gamasutra at this year’s GDC event in Paris, McCarthy discussed the items briefly and mentioned that EA would integrate the peripherals similar to system’s recently released version of Rock Band. They are also making sure the peripherals don’t “raise the barrier of entry and accessiblity” for consumers.
“You have to be careful with it, because Rock Band, that’s a great peripheral, but it’s a big expensive box”, - David McCarthy, EA, talking to Gamasutra
If I were to guess the first game that we’d actually see a peripheral for, it’d have to be Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09. It’s on the way next month, and there’s already a precendent for the game’s mechanics out there with Wii Sports and the previous games in the series.
