There is a new champion in the world of Guitar Hero…for now.
According to a statement released earlier today by Guiness World Records, Danny Johnson of Grapeville, Texas surpassed previous record holder (and new TAC spokesperson) Chris Chike’s official verified score of 880,920 on Dragonforce’s “Through the Fire and Flames”, amassing 890,971 points of his own. After submitting the documents neccesary, Guiness named him the new record holder.
Unfortunately for Johnson, the record might not last long. While unofficial in Guiness’ eyes at this point, Chike recently surpassed his previous score, as well as Johnson’s, scoring 987,786 points on a recent run. Guiness also confirmed they are aware of the video, but until they get in contact with him to verify the score, Johnson’s the man to beat.
