It seems the upgraded PC release of the Xbox 360 title Mass Effect has some gamers frustrated. As it turns out, the game can run the install program three times before the disc is locked. Coming from the Bioware forums, a poster discussed his frustrating encounter with service reps who finally answered his question, though not the way he wanted.

Unfortunately, you will not gain an activation by uninstalling the game.

In other words, if something happens to your PC a few times, or if you want the game on a couple of different computers, that will be the last time the disc can be used. Uninstalling doesn’t gain anything. Ouch.
