With Zero Punctuation on vacation (hah, that rhymes) for this week, now’s a good a time as any for me to post some of the other video opinion shows that I happen to check out regularly. One of those shows is Sessler’s Soapbox, where X-Play’s Adam Sessler sounds off on a number of opinions in either the gaming culture or industry that for whatever reason they can’t get to on the regular show.
In this week’s edition, Sessler sounds off on the constant racist and homophobic language that has almost become a staple of Microsoft’s Xbox Live Service in their most popular games. The video can be seen above.
Sessler brings up good points in the video and I agree with him 100%. The fact that this seems to be getting worse over recent years is exactly why I rarely wear a headset, never play random people, or participate in quickmatches unless there’s an option to turn voice chat off. The sad thing is I don’t see it changing anytime soon.
