A Virginian Baptist preacher has decided to follow up on a plan last year in which he bought back guns from the community for cash. His intentions were clear and simple: to lower a growing youth crime problem in the city.

This year, Richard Patrick has another plan. Instead of guns, he’ll collect violent rap CDs and of course, violent video games. Once collected, he’ll hold a rally to burn them all. When asked how he believes they affect youth, Patrick responded:

“It has a tremendous influence on young people and violence. That’s basically all they see. Most of them try to emulate what they see, when in reality, the people they see don’t even live in those communities.”

The last recalled church burning of video games was Pokemon, considered to go against the beliefs of a Kansas church.
