“Wii Would Like to Play” has been an effective marketing campaign for Nintendo’s top-selling Wii console, and last night it got honored for it.
The campaign, created by Leo Burnett, picked up the Grand Effie award last night at the 40th Annual Effie Awards in New York. The award, which has been around since 1968, honors marketing communications “that work” and is globally recognized.
“Leo Burnett’s marketing strategy for the Wii will forever change the gaming industry and its dialogue with consumers”,” said Deborah Meyer, Chair of the Grand Effie Jury and Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at Chrysler. “The Grand Effie winning campaign delivered results that any CMO would want to take back to their CEO.”
