GameTap announced late yesterday afternoon an expansion in their relationship with Interplay that will result in a number of new franchise being added to the company’s download service.

As part of the new deal, Fallout, MDK, Descent will make their GameTap debuts, and the Earthworm Jim games will make their return to the service’s slate.

“GameTap continues to be a great partner for Interplay by offering expanded opportunities for revenue after the initial retail window has closed,” said GameTap CEO Herve’ Caen.

“This licensing deal is a good example of how Interplay is leveraging its library of intellectual properties. The company will continue to either reinvent some of those properties by developing them into new versions or sequels, or by partnering with an existing leader like GameTap, where the original titles can live on.”

Look for all of these titles on both the subscription and free-play sides of GameTap sometime this summer.
