The game that’s got mainstream media everywhere talking is getting ready to make its North American debut, as Nintendo launches Wii Fit later this week. Picking up steam ever since it was initially announced at last year’s E3, Wii Fit has already sold out of pre-orders at a few key retailers with more expected to come. The game has sold two million units in Japan to date.

“Wii Fit will get you moving whether you’ve been playing video games for years or this is your first time,” said Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “Wii Fit is easy for anyone to try and is yet another example of how Nintendo continues to expand the world of video games to new audiences.”

Wii Fit will cost $89.99, and comes with the new Wii Balance Board which is already being ultilized in a few upcoming games (Don King’s Prizefighter, Skate It). If you live in New York, Wii Fit is already being sold at the Nintendo World Store. For everyone else, the game ships this Wednesday.
