Tam Fry, representative from the National Obesity Forum, has slammed Nintendo for the BMI Index feature of Wii Fit. After a forum post was picked up by multiple sites when a little girl was told she was overweight, Fry issued this statement:

“I’m absolutely aghast that children are being told they are fat… I would be very concerned if children were using this game and I believe it should carry a warning for parents.”

Another parent spoke of their child being considered overweight according to the game in the Daily Mail article. Fry requested a warning be put on the box to alert parents, though Nintendo quickly replied stating the BMI rating for children would not be accurate and they would not add a warning.
