Former Nintendo chairman Hiroshi Yamauchi is Japan’s richest man, according to a report in the the latest edition of Forbes Magazine.

Thanks in large part to the tremendous sales of the Wii and DS over the years, Yamauchi has a net worth of $7.8 billion, which increased by $3 million in the past year moving him into the top spot. He replaces Akiria Mori, a Japanese property tycoon.
